Here’s something I’ve been working on for a while: the 92nd Street Y Blog (“92Y Blog” for short). The tagline is “Highlights from the 92nd Street Y universe” and the idea is to put 92nd Street Y offerings into context. It’s a user-friendly gateway to a complex and extremely busy cultural institution.If you’re familiar with the 92nd Street Y’s programming, a Y blog is really a no-brainer. With hundreds of programs taking place daily, there are a lot of interesting things happening just begging to be explained, linked and written about in a human voice. The challenge is finding the time and resources to blog about even a small percentage of it.
Throughout the development of the 92Y Blog, I looked hard for comparable blogs from other major cultural institutions and came up short. If you know of any good ones, please send them my way. I would love to see what other folks are doing in this space.
